Did you know that around 70 million people in the United States suffer from sleep problems?*

If you’re one of them, Sweet Island Dreams is here to help.

Whether you find yourself tossing and turning all night with insomnia, constantly waking up with yet another troubling sleep apnea episode, or find that no amount of sleep leaves you feeling well-rested and ready to go, we’ve packed this blog with all the information you need to get a good night’s sleep finally.

About The Blog

We started this blog because we’re passionate about sleep, not because we love that warm, cozy feeling you get when you drift off in a comfortable bed at night (don’t get us wrong, it’s certainly an amazing feeling!), but mainly because the way we sleep has a hugely profound impact on both our physical and mental wellbeing.

Everything from nagging headaches to chronic back pain, increased blood pressure, stress, anxiety, and depression can all be caused by poor-quality sleep.

What’s more, many of the conditions that result from lack of proper sleep can, in turn, ultimately make it even more challenging to rest well, creating a vicious circle that keeps making everything progressively worse.

Sweet Island Dreams exists to break that vicious circle and arm you with the tools, techniques, and knowledge you need to start sleeping better and improving your health and quality of life.

Topics We Cover

Our sleep experts create comprehensive guides backed by the latest medical and scientific research to help you improve all aspects of your nightly shut-eye.

Among the many topics you’ll find on this blog, our most popular subjects include:

1. Sleep Apnea And Other Sleep Disorders

Roughly 22 million people struggle with sleep apnea in the US alone. At the same time, reports suggest that as many as 45% of the entire population of the planet deal with insomnia.

Our in-depth guides contain everything you need to know to identify the cause of whatever sleep disturbance you’re struggling with and how to treat them.

2. Sleep Environment

Too hot?

Too cold?

Too uncomfortable?

The environment you sleep in makes a major difference to the quality of your sleep, which is why we’ve put together a wealth of information and guidance to create the optimum sleeping conditions.

3. Sleep Hygiene

Our ability to get a solid 7-9 hours of restorative sleep is affected as much by what we do before, during, and after turning in as it is by what we wear to bed and the state of our mattress.

In this part of our website, our sleep hygiene specialists outline everything you need to know so that you can effectively harness the power of sleep and wake up feeling fit, healthy, and well.

Our Approach to Product Reviews And User Testing

From memory foam mattresses to CPAP humidifiers and more, there’s a whole host of sleep-improving products. We’d be doing you a disservice if we didn’t mention them as an option for overcoming whatever’s keeping you up at night.

That said, we don’t just recommend any random old product. Though we earn a small commission if you purchase a product after clicking on one of our affiliate links, we’d never risk jeopardizing your health by recommending something we haven’t tried and tested.

That’s why every product we feature has been put through the following rigorous testing process here at Sweet Island Dreams HQ:

  1. We look for peer-reviewed evidence that a particular product offers genuine benefits. After all, what’s the point in buying a product if it’s not going to help you?
  2. As long as a product type has been proven to help, we next research the best-selling models and task our panel of experts to recommend which ones are worth further testing.
  3. We purchase a select number of those top-recommended models and try them out ourselves. We also ask a small group of subjects with real sleep disturbances to try them out.
  4. Both groups rank and assess each model according to a range of criteria including, but not limited to:
  • Quality
  • Effectiveness
  • Ease of use
  • Cost.
  1. We combine our findings with legitimate customer reviews to determine which products we recommend on our site.
